Notes, from Life
When I was a teenager I wrote things down in a blank notebook that I later called poems. After I had written enough of them I decided to make a book. At the same time my mother was compiling family recipes and family photos to create a family cookbook that encapsulated the heritage of the family she grew up in. The foods, the memories tied together with photos and stories all in a spiral bound physical cook book created from the heart on a Macintosh classic computer. The year was 1993.
I learned typesetting, editing, layout. I picked what I thought were the most meaningful pages to me and made my own book. I called it Notes, from Life. I used the same small printing company my mom used and ended up with 25 physical copies of my own book. I sold some, a gave most away. It was a token, proof that I could do it. And then I walked away from that idea.
I kept writing, in fact wrote better and longer stanzas, but I never returned to the idea of publishing.
Until now.
I have republished that original work of poetry for the 21st century.
Available now for pre order on Amazon Kindle, and the paperback will be released 6/26/26
